LayerLedger

One record, from sliced file to shipped order.

Watch a print go through LayerLedger. The printer on the left and the ledger on the right are driven by the same numbers, so what the machine does is what your records say.

Desktop 3D printer with a four-spool material box An open-frame printer with a box of four filament spools on top. Tubes run from the spools to a hub and on to the print head. The head lays down each layer, the part grows, and the bed steps down. When the hub switches spools, the part changes color. Material box: 4 spools hub

    Drop the sliced file

LayerLedger reads the grams, time and colors straight from the slicer's file. Nothing is typed.

Print, with the printer reporting in

Progress and the spool in use come from the printer over your own network. Your records don't change yet.

    Confirm the print record

When the printer stops, LayerLedger drafts a record: planned beside actual. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

    Inventory updates itself

Each spool loses exactly what the print used. Low spools are flagged and go on the buy list.

What you just saw, in plain words

The printer never gets orders

LayerLedger only listens. It reads status from Bambu Lab printers and any Klipper printer on your network, and it never starts, stops or changes a print.

You confirm, the ledger changes

A finished print becomes a draft. Mark it Good or Failed, fix a spool if the printer used a different one, then confirm. Only then do the spool weights move.

Every number has a source

Grams come from the sliced file. Prices come from your receipts. Time comes from the printer. When the order ships, the actual cost sits next to the estimate you quoted.
